The Dispositivos or 'Devices' series explores the potential of metallic and reflective materials as architectural elements. Operating somewhere between detail and object, the pieces function as small-scale constructions capable of reflecting, redirecting, and modulating light, existing simultaneously as artifact, gadget, and spatial fragment.
The aim of the series is to develop a form of 'small architecture' that, through its scale, allows for greater and more immediate freedom of formal exploration and material experimentation, complementing the architectural work developed within the studio. Both scales operate reciprocally: they feed, echo, and contaminate one another.
The piece presented here is the second work produced within the series. It is a unique piece; no additional editions will be produced.
The work was exhibited as part of Coalescence, a collective exhibition of alumni from the AA presented within the Italian nomadic gallery ALCOVA during Milan Design Week.
